There were 14 children in all. Two died at an early age

Four Robbins brothers came to America from England in the early days. They were Scotch-British. All the Robbins in America are kin to them. This is according to the facts found by the professional Walter Robbins, youngest son of William Arthur and Mary Frances Bishop, hired to trace the family. After several generations and nearly one hundred fifty years, the descendants of the brother who is OUR ancestor, move to Kentucky. Later, William Arthur and Mary Frances Robbins moved to land he bought near Putnam, Texas. They built a big, two-story house there. He died of measles while still a young man. He was followed in death many years later by Mary Frances. She died in Abilene, Texas, They had fourteen children.

Mary Frances' grandmother was a German. Her last name was Eisenhower[2].

The Robbins brother from whom our family is descended married an Indian girl - Cherokee, I think.

Walter Robbins's wife, Linda (a German) and her daughter now have the family record. Walter died in the 1970's. Their home was in Galveston, Texas.

Footnotes/Corrections

  1. I can find no locality named Broadfoot in Kentucky. There is a Brodhead. Considering this was her grandfather's information, written 80 years after he died, perhaps she got the location wrong from memory
  2. Other sources have suggested the spelling to be Isenhower. Further research is needed
  3. This was information from Frank Robbins, Opal's brother
