Betty Ruth Nelson (1931-2016)

Betty Ruth Nelson was born March 31st, 1931 to John William Nelson and Electa Coltrin, in Mathis, Texas.

She was one of three siblings, her brother John Sterling and Edna Lois.

She attended school in Mathis from Kindergarten until 12th grade. Once she graduated high school, she attended University of Corpus Cristi, gaining a degree in Music. While there, she met and began dating David Elliott. They would date through the end of their college year, marrying _____ _____ of 195__ in _____, Texas. They would spernd their honeymoon in and around the Central Texas area, including New Braunfels.

She was an avid piano player, starting during her school years in Mathis. Wherever David would preach, she would play the piano during the service.

She also taught piano for many years, as a way of bringing extra income into the house. She most likely had hundreds of piano students though the years.

She and David had 3 children: David Wayne, Warren Lee, and Jeanene. She and David had 4 grand children: John Elliott, Alex Smith, and Joey and Jana Ickes
