Jeanne Dunseth October 12, 1925 - September 12, 2015

Jeanne Dunseth (age 89) passed away Saturday, September 12, 2015 after a brief illness at Park West Hospital.

She was born Audrey Jeanne Gatlin to Lonnie Edward Gatlin and Effie Coker Gatlin in Austin, Texas on October 12, 1925. She had two brothers, Bill and Earl Gatlin. Her parents died when she was 3 years old in a flu epidemic and was raised by her grandparents, Robert Coker and Mary Francis Coker, as well as her aunt, Audrey Pannell. She married Cecil Clair Dunseth on August 1, 1942 in Victoria, Texas at the Methodist parsonage before he joined the US Army and served as a combat radioman in the Pacific during World War II. Jeanne became a registered nurse and worked in several medical offices and hospitals in Corpus Christi and Victoria, Texas throughout her professional career.

Jeanne and Clair had two children, Judith Jeanne Dunseth and Michael Clair Dunseth. Jeanne and Clair's daughter, Judy, married Richard Frank Robbins. Their son, Mike, married Richard's sister, Susan Margaret Robbins.

Jeanne was preceded by her parents, her brothers, her husband, and her son as well as her son-in-law.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Dunseth Robbins, and her daughter-in-law, Susan Robbins Dunseth. She is also survived four grandchildren: Kim Robbins Wheeler and her husband, Charlie Wheeler, of League City, Texas; Steven Robbins and his wife, Candy Sanford Robbins, of Corpus Christi, Texas; Erin Robbins Johnson and her husband, Russell Johnson, of Loudon, Tennessee; and, Nikki Dunseth Abcarian and her husband, Ryan Abcarian, of McKinney, Texas. She is further survived by seven great-grandchildren: Melissa Wheeler Leckbee, Jason Wheeler, Natalie Wheeler Potts, all of Texas; Delaney, Grayson, and Emerson Abcarian of McKinney, Texas and Emory Johnson of Loudon, Tennessee. She also has four great-grandchildren: Maddie, Gianna, Scarlet and Carter, also all of Texas.

Jeanne and her daughter, Judy, moved together from Victoria, Texas last year to live with Jeanne's grand-daughter, Erin Johnson and her family, in Loudon where they both became members of Loudon United Methodist Church.

Services honoring and remembering Audrey Dunseth will be held 7:00 PM Thursday, Sept. 17th, officiated by LUMC Pastor Walter Simmerman at McGill-Karnes Funeral Home, Loudon. At a later date, Mrs. Dunseth will be entombed with her husband at a memorial service held in the Dallas-Fort Worth National Military Cemetery where her son, Mike Dunseth, a Vietnam Air Force veteran is also interred.
